Guide Lines for Post Match Hospitality The purpose of the Durham and Cleveland Squash Leagues is two-fold. They are there to provide a competitive environment for the maximum range of skill levels and when taken in their 3 different forms should provide for male and female plus all age ranges. All three league forms - senior, ladies and juniors - also have an aim to encourage social interaction so the juniors start meeting different people with the same interest and where possible for juniors, some light refreshments are provided. For the seniors, there is a more specific requirement for the home team to provide food and drink for both teams. This is fundamentally to support the socialisation of the sport but often there is a very practical element that due to geography and match-times, it might not otherwise be feasible for teams to eat on team nights. As regards food, it is impossible to be prescriptive but it should be suffice to provide a reasonable evening's meal for every player of both teams. It is similarly reasonable to expect that an appropriate amount of drink be provided as with a normal evening home meal. It is expected that the home team will have sufficient people staying with the away team to act as hosts. If away teams are not going to turn up or to have a reduced number of players staying for the meal, that team is required to notify the home team as soon as possible such that they can avoid unnecessary expense in providing extra meals. |
